She has worked as a Senior Biologist and Senior Officer, gaining extensive expertise in sustainable development practices and their implementation.

Melinda was born in the Philippines and earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the country’s premier teaching institution, Philippine Normal University. She is a hardworking, highly motivated, and enthusiastic professional with over 25 years of hands-on experience in the marine and aquaculture sector, where she has held key roles as a Senior Biologist and Senior Officer. 

 

Throughout her career, Melinda has worked for a private company based in Palawan, a region renowned for its commitment to sustainable development over the past 30 years. This experience has provided her with extensive exposure to a wide range of sustainable practices, as well as the challenges and strategies involved in their successful implementation. Her expertise spans ecological monitoring, aquaculture management, and conservation-focused initiatives, making her a valuable contributor to projects that balance industry needs with environmental stewardship.
